Lasagna Napoletana | Sandford on Thames Market

We had some great feedback from one of our customers at the weekend who bought one of our seasonal specials at Sandford – Lasagna alla Napoletana. Based on a recipe from Naples the lasagna is made with herbed pork-meatballs, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and mozzeralla all in a light ragu sauce. It is one of our favourites and perfect for the spring weather…

Great Taste Awards 2012

After our success last year winning our first award we have decided to enter a few more products this year.

Fingers crossed for:
____ Roasted Beetroot & Walnut Pesto
Perfect spread on warm crostini or as a mixed with pasta & cream to make a delicious and unusual dish.

Based on a Sicilian Vegetable Antipasto

and two speciality lasagna:
_____ Our Autum Special
_____ Pork, Apple & Quince Lasagna
Free range Beckley pork is combined with our neighbours apples, award winning hand made quince jelly and spices to create an unusual autumnal dish.

____ Our Summer Special
____ Lasagna Alla Napoletana
A meatball lasagna based on a recipe from Naples. Locally sourced pork, tomatoes, free range hard boiled eggs and mozzarella are combined a light ragù sauce and fresh pasta to make this deep lasagna.

East Oxford Community Farmers Market

We continue to love attending the East Oxford Community Farmers Market… it really is one of the best markets around full of really interesting produce and makers. So much so that we managed to convince our friend Roberto to come up from the safety of London to help out on the store for a morning…

Roberto may well be selling our products in London next at a market near the Barbican… but that is future plans…

Orders for Christmas…

We are now taking orders for Christmas, some of our friends order larger 6 or 8 portions to use over the festive season. We thought it was a good idea so have started taking more orders. Everything is freshly cooked so you can pop it in the freezer and get it out over the holidays on the day that you want an easy dinner or lunch.

1,2, 6 or 8 portions or any combination of  lasagna are available. It is £3.95 a portion as we ask for a £10.00 returnable deposit for the ceramic lasagna dishes for the 6 or 8 portion sizes. There are three ways to order:

01. East Oxford Farmers Market – We will be at the #EastOxfordFarmersMarket on Sat 3rd and will be bringing the orders along to the market on Christmas Eve. www.eastoxfordmarket.org.uk

Sandford Food Market

Saturday saw our first visit to the Sandford Food Market… it was a great day and we met lots of fellow food fans. We sold out of our lasagnas at the show and are now introducing an ordering system in partnership with the market.

Orders can be placed with Abi at orders.talkingshop@gmail.com by Tuesday and then the dishes will be ready to be picked up in the Saturday. Find out more about ordering and other delicious food available at the Sandford Market website by clicking here.

We have also introduced a new idea for larger orders. 6 or 8 portions can be ordered from the market and they will be supplied in oven proof ceramic dishes. For a deposit you can cook your dish at home and then return the dish to next week. Saves on packaging and so is good for the environment and good for the taste.
