We are thrilled to announce that we have won 3 Great Taste Awards in the 2012 competition.

This adds to the 1 that we won in 2011 on our first attempt for the Lasagna alla Bolognese, our classic free range beef & pork lasagna.

This years winners were:
___ Pork, Apple and Quince Lasagna

___ Our special, Lasagna alla Napoletana, based on a recipe from Naples and made with free range pork meatballs, mozzarella & free range egg…

___ and our third awards was for our Vegetable Caponata, a Sicilian antipasto…

This is amazing news and beyond our wildest expectations. It makes us all the more determined to see our product on a shelf near you soon!

Quince Jelly

Quince Jelly is just one of the amazing products that Colin & Elspeth Wainwright produce from the humble quince. We met them at one of our first markets, the Waterperry Apple Festival back in 2010. Colin gave us some valuable advice on how to run the stall but more importantly we were introduced to their products. Since then we have been using their award winning Quince Jelly in our Special ‘Pork, Apple & Quince Lasagna.’

Thame Food Festival – Biggest yet

The Thame Food Festival was huge this year – almost as soon as we put out the food at 9am on the dot people started to stop at the stand. We sold our of Roasted Beetroot & Walnut Pesto first quickly followed but our other pesto, Caponata and then the Pork, Apple & Quince Lasagna. At the end of the day we has sold out of everything -

Later that evening we got a text from one of our customers…

‘Just had your Pork & Apple Lasagna… it was amazing… the cook is a legend. In fact we have just put the vege one in the oven for desert!!’

Makes all the work worthwhile! And as a bonus we met Robin from the Granary Deli (www.granarydeli.co.uk) and picked up some amazing cheese.

Wheatley Farm Shop Grand Opening | Sat 21 May 2011

The grand opening the Wheatley Farm Shop was a great success. A steady stream of new customers arrived all day to sample to free hog roast, watch to Morris dancing and of course sample some of the products  that will be available in the new Farm Shop.

We were there sampling our spring special, Lasagna alla Napoletana (lasagna made with meatballs, mozzarella and egg combined with a light pork ragu sauce, fresh pasta and a bechamel). The special sold out by 2pm and the classic and vegetarian also sold really well.

Looks like the new Farm Shop is going to be a great success…congratulations to Carol & Dave on a great day…

Strange weather… strange seasons

NEWS IN FROM THE CICI COCO KITCHEN – Not only do we have some pretty snowy weather rather early this year but we have also re-visited autumn in the CiCi CoCo Kitchen… due to amazing demand we have made a special batch of our Autumn Special; Pork, Apple & Quince lasagna. So many people have requested the autumn special for Christmas that we thought we would make a one off batch…

Thame Food Festival… sell out!

The food festival was an amazing weekend… it was busy from early in the morning and the feedback we got from our tasting was incredibly positive. We sold out of our Pork, apple and quince lasagnas by lunch time…

We saw so many friends at the event and the positive is a great encouragement to keep going. We will have already booked our space for next year!
