The Harvest, BBC Countryfile & Heritage Pasta

As we have been working on our new range of Heritage Pasta, the grains in the Prestwood farm fields where we have been experimenting with pasta have been ripening and the harvest has started! We have been lucky enough to witness the extra-ordinary ripper-binder, an incredible 1930’s machine that still at work on the farm.

It seems it was not only us that was interested and a crew from the BBC program CountryFile visited to film our friend John Letts autumn Harvest of the heritage grains. We have been using John’s flour in our cookery classes and to make our fresh pasta for some time and have recently been developing some dried pasta with it.

Country File aired on the 30th August and featured not only John but us making pasta and creating a amazing dish of food for everyone on the team. We will be selling some of the pasta along with some pesto at the Thame Food Festival on the 26th September… hope to see you there.

Thame Food Festival – Biggest yet

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on September 26th, 2011 by liberatethelasagna

The Thame Food Festival was huge this year – almost as soon as we put out the food at 9am on the dot people started to stop at the stand. We sold our of Roasted Beetroot & Walnut Pesto first quickly followed but our other pesto, Caponata and then the Pork, Apple & Quince Lasagna. At the end of the day we has sold out of everything -

Later that evening we got a text from one of our customers…

‘Just had your Pork & Apple Lasagna… it was amazing… the cook is a legend. In fact we have just put the vege one in the oven for desert!!’

Makes all the work worthwhile! And as a bonus we met Robin from the Granary Deli (www.granarydeli.co.uk) and picked up some amazing cheese.

Thame Food Festival… sell out!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on October 13th, 2010 by liberatethelasagna

The food festival was an amazing weekend… it was busy from early in the morning and the feedback we got from our tasting was incredibly positive. We sold out of our Pork, apple and quince lasagnas by lunch time…

We saw so many friends at the event and the positive is a great encouragement to keep going. We will have already booked our space for next year!
